I just got reprimanded by two different cops on two different intersections for improper crossing of the street. The streets I cross (improperly) every day.

I wonder if this is all part of the crackdown on terror or something. Some cop inexplicably demanded I wait for the Walk sign on Canal Street. I was utterly baffled by the situation.
