drool

I apologize if this is really boring, but I just have to tell you about this sandwich. If you happen to live or work near a Pret a Manger, pick yourself up a "Holiday Lunch" for the low low price of $5.98 plus tax. (It "feeds two" because if you buy one they give money to the homeless, or something.) Anyway, it is made with hearty wheaty bread, turkey, cranberry sauce, onions, spinach, sweet sweet mayonnaise, and STUFFING. That actually sounds kind of disgusting, come to think of it, but trust me it's awesome. And now that I've found the nutrition facts online (that's gotta be almost as much fat as a Big Mac) I know why. Mmmm fat.

I've seen that called a Thanksgiving sandwich, too. My roommate just roasted a whole turkey so he could make it for himself. Then he fed the brat dog turkey, and believe me, turkey does NOT agree with the dog. That such a small thing can emit such potent farts is beyond me. But the sandwich itself is pretty darn good.

Be this the same Pret a Manger of the lineage from the United Kingdom? The Pret a Manger (commonly known as Pret) of the aesthetically pleasing cans of soda pop?
We have not Pret on the West Coast. But you have not the In and Out.

It is indeed the same Pret. Only here, as opposed to the UK, it's not nearly as popular and there are fewer prawn-based sandwiches. Can you get mayonnaise covered prawns between two slices of bread at In n Out? I don't think so!

mayonnaise and shrimp? Vomit! I mean, believe you mean, I love them both separately. And not surprisingly there is not a Pret in Georgia either (or the Upper East or West Sides that I can think of. I think they're really only in midtown and the financial district actually.) Or at least, none in Georgia that I've yet seen. Nor In and Out Burger. But we do have an abundance of Waffle Houses and independent rib shacks to make up for it.

Yeah it's only midtown I think. Including across the street from my soon to be former office. As opposed to in London where they're on every street corner. And totally agree on the prawns/mayo combo grossness. But I guess we eat tuna with mayo so it's not THAT weird.

Ah, I remember the Crab Duo but never had it because I was still a fullblown veg head at that point. And yeah, let's all just move to London. Did you see "Shaun of the Dead?" I love dumb British humor.

At Rutgers we had these sandwiches called Fat Cats. They are 3 -5 things stuff in one sandwich, like a cheeze burger with chicken fingers and onion rings in a sandwich. My favorite is the Fat Night which is a cheezesteak, chicken fingers, motzerella stix and fries...just awesome...no need to eat for a week after that.
